I feel that the staff and admins of this zone should be ashamed of themselves in how matters where handled in this contest. I would have loved if after aaron left that everyone dropped out in protest. Then what would the staff had done. Nothing their pissy antics cost the show its reptuation. GOOd job idiots!!

Yes the show had it's problems but I still loved it. Some of those people could sing damn good and that's all that I cared about. Maybe the staff will learn something from this, after all this was the first year, and do things better next time...if there is a next time.

Way to write a coherent post, before insulting icon how about you retake first grade? Arron should have been kicked off icon because he gave out confidential information that was discussed durring an icon meeting. End of story. While I do think some things should have been handled differently Arron's dismissal is not one of them.

I hate to say this, but I agree with Jared. And, you are demeaning the contestants who performed and took pride in their performances by calling the whole thing a joke. It wasn't a joke to them.

Nor was it a joke to me. I enjoyed the music, and that's what it was all about.

I do think certain aspects of icon were somewhat unprofessional, but these folks don't get a salary, and they thought what they were doing was the right thing.

I hope there's another icon next year, but I wouldn't blame them if they didn't do it.

So, until I get perfect, I'm not going to criticize the folks who put this on, nor the contestants. But, I'm nearing perfection, so I'll post my criticisms then.

I enjoyed this zone icon as a contestant and as an audient.
For myself it was a very good experience. I never took part in a competition before and i was glad to hear some feedback about my singing. I always wanted to have some feedback from professional people who know about music. We all know that friends and family always think that we are the best lol.
But as an audent i enjoyed all the good work the audio teem put towards this competition and i enjoyed listening to some off the other contestants.
So i wouldn't say it was a joke. Nobody is perfect. We all do mistakes and as long as we learn from our mistakes it's fine. If next year there are the same mistakes then we will be able to say something. But as a first time project i am very impressed with it.
Having a competition like that with contestants from all over the world it sounds amasing to me.

Hmmmm, and just when I thought the ugly side of icon couldn't be beaten into the ground any further!

I agree with everyone else. Zone icon was a kick ass idea and for a first time run, Ithink it went really well. It had it's problems, I expected those problems, and in the end I'll admit that it got a little rocky but the judges, Mark, the audio team, and the contestents did a great job with it and icon was far from a joke.

If Icon was a joke, I'm sure Danielle is laughing all the way with some great prizes she won.

But isn't it awesome when someone chooses a tag that sets them up for such ridicule? he displays his genius qualities so readily I just have to read what he writes. oh, and then piss myself.

I really loved Zone icon, and I'd love to help out with the contest next year. Zone icon was far from a joke. The initial post to this thread, however, was. Thank you, good night.

I don't think that zone icon was a joke at all! I think it was a good experience for the contestants, judges, audio team and zone audience. I think if you're not in the shoes of those who made this show possible then you have no room to talk and need to find something else to do with your life.

*sigh* not again! others have said it already.
it sure had it's ffew problems but it was the first icon? what do people expect?
I thought most was handled quite professional and the contestents certainly enjoyed themselves.

Well I'll admit I regretfully did not to catch the grand fanally. But the epesodes I did catch wer really well done and lots of fun to listen to. I thought it was put together very well and did a lot of good for the Zone. I think it just brought a new and fun element, excitement if you will to the place. I'd never seen it explode with so many people the first night it was aired, so I think that's saying something. I hope it happens next year. If I'm still around here I might enter. haha Well those are my thoughts on the matter.
